Who we are

PRONI Center for Youth Development is a non-governmental, non-profit and non-political organization established in August 1998. Founded to organize and implement education in the field of youth work. Our goal is to develop and promote peace and activism among active citizens.

PRONI operates at the national level of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and also the organization is active at the European level through partnerships and networking with other youth NGOs and youth networks.

PRONI is the founder of the largest network of youth clubs in Bosnia and Herzegovina – 42 youth clubs . PRONI Center is also the initiator and co-founder of the renovation of one of the largest Youth Centers in BiH – the Youth Center of the Brčko District of BiH.

Vision and mission

Vision:

PRONI Center for Youth Development has a vision that all young people have the ability to develop themselves and equal opportunity to contribute to a democratic and just society in which their needs are acknowledged and resolved. Activism, collaboration and understanding among people are an integral part of the democratic and just society.

Mission:

PRONI Center for Youth Development is working on bridging the barriers that create differences within society. We work for individuals and groups in society that will have the benefit of the labor organization with a special focus on young people. We cooperate with all organizations in the NGO sector, institutions, government agencies at all levels within the state, funds and agencies outside of BiH that share the same goals and values as well as individuals who have intellectual and economic potential to support those ideas, goals and values. PRONI Center is implementing its peace work education and peace work methodology in the post-war areas where society expressed the need for social reconstruction. PRONI Center currently operates in North-Eastern Bosnia and Hercegovina.

PRONI Center for Youth Development is working on the development of a democratic society through:

Methodology

We work on principles and models of social education based on experiences and positive examples of youth work methods and work in the community applied to the EU. Models of social education that promote and apply are: 

  1. interactive way of learning 

  2. inter-cultural approach 

  3. teamwork 

  4. individual work 

  5. creating a safe space for development 

  6. encourage responsibility and creativity 

  7. promotion of voluntary work 

  8. raising awareness among youth about their rights and obligations

  9. non-formal education
